About the Author

Aleysha R. Proctor is a Christian Inspirational author and lifestyle blogger. She published her first book, “With Style & Amazing Grace” in 2006. Later came “He’s the Keeper of My Soul” in 2008 and “Jazz, Java & Jesus” in 2009.

Aleysha’s work has inspired others to get through some of their most difficult and personal matters. One of her readers shared that as she was on her way to the emergency room that she grabbed her copy of “Jazz, Java & Jesus” to help keep her spirits high.

Aleysha resides in the Washington, DC metro area and can be found on most social media platforms @AleyshaProctor.

Inspired to Move Forward is a book of God’s faithfulness. There are modern day and biblical accounts of when people were faced with some of their toughest battles, and came out victorious.

There’s also a section of where to find certain Scriptures in the Bible so that the reader can start kingdom-living. It’s said that the kingdom of God is voice-activated. You’re going to have to say with your own mouth what God says about you.

Most of us would love to move forward in certain areas of our life but let’s face it, sometimes it’s hard. Sometimes we are so used to thinking a certain way that we can’t seem to make a first definite step, even though we know deep down in our hearts that it’s the right thing to do.

I enjoyed Alyesha Proctor’s Inspired to Move Forward. I like the short chapters, fresh style of devotional writing, yet anointed filled words that challenges and shows us how we have to speak God’s promises to move forward in adverse circumstances. The book was full of divine wisdom, action challenges, without being preaching or super-analytical. I loved “I Feel You”. In fact I have about three favorite chapters.

Aleysha believes that God has given her a mandate to encourage people in all aspects of their lives. Therefore I could not wait to read another one of her devotionals. I am going to paraphrase a lot of her work on my facebook page again (I did it with her last devotion). Some may believe that there is not enough substance in the book. I believe if you apply the nuggets she has in there you will indeed be inspired to move forward and your mind will be encouraged and renewed. The book is short, but impactful.

Aleysha Proctor is an award-winning Entrepreneur, award-winning Author, and certified Image Consultant (having studied with Color Me Beautiful, Inc., Beauty for All Seasons and Brenda York Image Management). She also has a BS degree in Management & Leadership, an MBA in Marketing from Hamilton University, and is a certified Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF). Interview

What inspires you to write poetry? devotionals? What advice or tips would you give to those who write christian inspiration or non -fiction?

I’m inspired to help encourage others because I know it’s what God has called me to do. Anyone can tell you how bad things are, but it’s my calling to tell you that God is still able!!

My advice to those who write is to just keep writing. Even when you’re going through dark periods in life, keep writing and if you don’t encourage anyone, at least you’ve encouraged yourself and will continue to develop your spiritual muscles.

Aleysha R. Proctor‘s Jazz, Java and Jesus was a joy to read. That devotional, like its name, has a fresh style but is full of the Word and divine wisdom without being preachy or super-analytical. I paraphrased portions of her daily devotionals on my facebook page. Aleysha believes that God has given her a mandate to encourage people in all aspects of their lives. Therefore I could not wait to read another one of her devotionals. In With Style & Amazing Grace she tells us how to adorn the “inner you “with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit based on 1Peter 3:3-4.
