Deep Fried Trouble Virtual Book Tour

About the Book

Widowed and officially retired, EUGEENA PATTERSON throws herself into organizing the neighborhood association. This presents a great opportunity to re-connect with old friends and get to know new neighbors like recently widowed Amos Jones, that is until Eugeena stumbles upon her estranged neighbor’s dead body. Eugeena’s daughter is fingered as a prime suspect, but where is she?

Determined to find her missing daughter, Eugeena and Amos sort through a list of neighbors with shady or unknown backgrounds. The more she searches, the more Eugeena becomes unsure about this neighborhood association idea. Someone closer than Eugeena thinks, wants to keep it that way.

Fegins’ report: Tyora Moody has created another intriguing murder mystery of who don’it, mixed with a rising love interest, a need for forgiveness of the past and to practice faith in the Lord. I enjoyed the book so much so that I have recommended this book to my Book Ministry to read. This is the first time that I missed the clues that lead to the murder.

My only concern is about Chris, Eugeena’s daughter’s boyfriend. We are told that he hit her daughter, but we don’t see the follow up of this my Eugeena or her daughter. I only hear the daughter state”he is not a bad guy”. In my mind a 6’4 man who hits your daughter is not a good guy. I wanted to see that explained or Eugeena to address this issue with her daughter.

Romance Eternelle Virtual Book Tour

romance_eternelle

About the Book
A young woman in France finds her heart broken and seeks solace from her sister. Reluctantly seeking help from a monk, she has an unusual dining experience. He discloses a tale that feels like a veil being lifted from her eyes. Involving a prostitute and a priest, this story captivates and entices the young lady. The otherworldly descriptions of grace and the Holy Spirit prove to be her undoing, challenging what she thought she already knew. Her intimacy lost proves to be a doorway to that which often people can only dream.

Rarely is there a book that inspires one to the Divine that doesn’t involve work and discipline of some sort. As an unusual Christian romance novel, this story opens the reader to a mode of following God that seems almost too good and too easy to be true. As this allegory unfolds, a mystical reality birthed in earliest Christianity is illuminated, drawing attention to the origin of true love, grace and the promised freedom we all desire. Monks and nuns, the Catholic church and even Protestants have at times attested to such ecstasy. Freedom and joy is often elusive though, as struggle, work and sin seem to be unnecessarily common amongst many of us. The world often sees only hypocrisy. The ache for real freedom and fulfillment has never been more apparent.

Fegins’ Comment
This short and odd novel is intriguing, tender and engaging. The intriguing story within this love story is powerful when one realizes that it really is demonstrating the unconditional love God has for the broken hearted, the fallen and those that society rejects. I enjoyed it .

Something personal, deeply spiritual and simple happened in himself and his family. Christians with Pervasive Issues Virtual Book Tour with Annie Brown

Banner[1]

Book Title: Christians with Pervasive Issues
Genre Christian Non-Fiction

About The Book

Book_cover[1]

Even as a faithful Christian, there may be times when you feel that there is no hope of escaping issues and themes in your life that ensnare and trip you up time and time again. When a certain pattern of behavior or type of suffering has been following you all your life, it’s hard to believe that you can ever escape from it. Christians with Pervasive Issues shows us that every child of God can be delivered from issues that cause them to be a victim, rather than walking in victory. In compassionate, no-nonsense language, Annie Brown demonstrates that with genuine repentance, using God’s principles, and the right counseling/support, you can overcome anything. Christians with Pervasive Issues gives you the ray of hope you need in order to heal your life, and get closer to God.

About The Author

photo[1]

Annie Brown is the mother of four adult children, five grandchildren, and one great grandchild. She is a licensed minister and social worker. As a social worker, Annie works the terminally ill, providing emotional support at the most critical time in an individual’s life. It is Annie’s desire that Christians work through their pervasive issues before the end of life, so that the transition between death and eternity can be smooth, and not cluttered with unresolved conflicts.

Annie Brown challenges us to face our issues. One cannot be healed and delivered from hurt, pain , and bitterness without facing the issues and forgiving our selves and those who hurt us. This small book is packed with love and compassion for the hurting , yet frank advice as to how to work through your issues to be free from the bondage of the past. Read what Annie Brown shares about her life and why she wrote the book.

Describe yourself for our visitors.

I am a God-fearing Christian who believes that a balanced life is important. I am a person who believes in helping others.
How do you find time to connect with God?
I make time for prayer, meditations, and studying the Word of God. I understand the importance of a dedicated prayer life and spending quality time meditating, studying, and having a dialogue with God. Since I am on the road everyday going to visit my patients, I utilize some of that travel time to commune with God.

Describe the importance of prayer and intercession in one’s life?

To me prayer and intercession is part of the essence of who I am…I realize that outside of God I am nothing and to be in fellowship with God it takes communing with Him daily. Prayer changes things is not just a saying but a truth I have learned to embrace in every part of my life…Also to be successful in life I understand that we are required to stand in the gap for others…I really believe that to pray for others I will be healed whether it is physically, mentally, emotionally, and etc…

Tell us about your current book?

Christians with Pervasive Issues is self-help book. The main focus is forgiveness. We have a need to present ourselves to God in humble submission and ask God to forgive us and deliver us. With God forgiving us in mind we need to understand that God forgives us when we come clean and not try to hide behind our issues and use excuses for unholy behaviors.
How did you come up with ideas for this book?
This book was inspired by God. I had never given any serious thought to writing a book because I felt inadequate to do so. However, when one learns the voice of God then we will know when God is speaking and when God spoke those words about Pervasive Issues, I definitely knew it was God, and not me. I share in the book that I did not even know the meaning of pervasive. And believe me, I tried to ignore the command to write, but when God has something for us to do, He will allow us to wander around in the wilderness and when we finish wandering God’s instructions will not have changed.
What valuable lessons do you want readers to learn from your book?
I want readers to learn that forgiveness brings freedom. If we need to forgive others or ask others to forgive us, we need to get whatever the issue resolved before the end of life. As a hospice social worker, I have witnessed so many people being agitated and restless. These persons cannot get comfortable and they continue to say they are in pain but no amount of medication can reduce emotional pain. It is as though, those issues that have been unresolved rear up and say “you thought I was gone but I am not so peep-a-boo”. The sad thing is that sometimes a person’s cognitive abilities to process matters are gone and it takes spiritual discernment and special skills to be able to dig under all that rubberish to find what the issue is so that person can find peace.

What did you learn while writing this book?

I learned much more about patience and the need to wait on God.

What did you hope to accomplish with this book?

My greatest desire is that people will take care of their unresolved issues before the end of life so that the transition will not be cluttered with emotional pain and agitation because there is no inner peace.

When you’re not writing, what do you like to do in your spare time?

Spare time….I could ask, what is that ?…..but on a serious note…I love to spend quality time with my family and friends. I enjoy cooking and I like quiet time. There is nothing like taking “me” days when I stay in my pajamas and do nothing of importance which I have learned to do in my senior years.

The Meaning of Pervasive Issues

I WAS GETTING ready for work and suddenly the words “Pervasive Issues” were dropped into my spirit. Can you imagine someone who is not normally a morning person having something so important to deal with? I could not even think of the meaning of “pervasive,” so I could not comprehend what was being said to me. I went on to work, but it did not leave me. I shared what had been dropped into my spirit with my co-worker who is an encourager. He gave me a push to pursue the message the Spirit was conveying, and to understand what God wanted me to write. I could not begin until I did some preliminary homework. I had to figure out what part of speech that “pervasive” was. “Pervasive” is an adjective, which served as a modifier to the noun (issue). Merriam-Webster Dictionary defined it as “spreading through every part.” If an issue is pervasive, it permeates the whole of something. Pervasive issues need to be dealt with within the Body of Christ.

Book Excerpt

A Remedy to Get to the Root of the Problem
WHAT IS NEEDED is that the people of God “must” clean out their secret compartments and confess that they need the Lord to deliver them. Confession is made unto salvation (deliverance). If we confess our faults, the Lord is faithful in forgiving us. You may ask, “Why do I have to confess if I was not responsible for what happened to me?”
The issue then becomes whether you have forgiven the person that caused me this harm. If there is no forgiveness, then you become a victim twice: a victim of circumstance, and a victim of bondage. This can be in some ways more dangerous than cancer. This will always be eating away at you. With cancer, at least you know what is going on in your body. Being a victim of circumstance and having an unforgiving heart bring torment. This torment becomes a part of you in such a way that it eats through your mind, destroys your inner peace, and puts your soul in jeopardy because it becomes a heart matter of sin.

Inspired to Move Forward is a book of God’s faithfulness. There are modern day and biblical accounts of when people were faced with some of their toughest battles, and came out victorious.

There’s also a section of where to find certain Scriptures in the Bible so that the reader can start kingdom-living. It’s said that the kingdom of God is voice-activated. You’re going to have to say with your own mouth what God says about you.

For every problem in life, there’s a promise from God.

Book Review by Linda Fegins

Most of us would love to move forward in certain areas of our life but let’s face it, sometimes it’s hard. Sometimes we are so used to thinking a certain way that we can’t seem to make a first definite step, even though we know deep down in our hearts that it’s the right thing to do.

I enjoyed Alyesha Proctor’s Inspired to Move Forward. I like the short chapters, fresh style of devotional writing, yet anointed filled words that challenges and shows us how we have to speak God’s promises to move forward in adverse circumstances. The book was full of divine wisdom, action challenges, without being preaching or super-analytical. I loved “I Feel You”. In fact I have about three favorite chapters.

Aleysha believes that God has given her a mandate to encourage people in all aspects of their lives. Therefore I could not wait to read another one of her devotionals. I am going to paraphrase a lot of her work on my facebook page again (I did it with her last devotion). Some may believe that there is not enough substance in the book. I believe if you apply the nuggets she has in there you will indeed be inspired to move forward and your mind will be encouraged and renewed. The book is short, but impactful.

Book review by Linda Fegins

The Word of God tells us to be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Monifa Robinson Groover has written a very compelling guide book that teaches you how to go through the process to transform your life by facing hard questions and taking action steps to reach newness, healing and restoration in your life that lasts based on the Word of God. “Change Beyond the Pain” challenges you to honestly examine your life by answering question raised in this guide book strategically placed in the book. While some of the questions may seem a bit much and the word definitions like a lecture, her style of writing is like she is right there coaching you to let you know that this is for your benefit so that you can live the abundant life God has for you (John 10:10), so you please Him and will be delivered from past hurts and mediocre living. Coaches push you to your highest good and potential and this book challenges and moves you to press forward.

Change in life is inevitable but we just don’t want to react to change, Monifa stresses that “transformation is a choice” which will allow you to be victorious over the changes that occur in your life. I enjoyed the workbook style of each chapter and the sharing of real life experiences. “Change Beyond the Pain” is a great tool to help you begin the journey of transformation. I loved Monifa’s statement that Faith = Movement and the chapter on the faith you must have to complete this transformation journey.

Blog Post/Book Excerpt
Faith… But First You MUST Believe

In order to please God, we MUST have faith. In order to surrender to God’s will, we MUST have faith. In order to embrace God’s perfect plan for our lives, we MUST have faith. In order to under¬stand God’s perfect timing, we MUST have faith. Faith is at the core. It is at the very center. This concept cannot be ignored; neither can it be pushed to the side and dealt with at a later time. Some may ask, if this concept is so important why are we just now talk¬ing about this in Chapter 7. My answer to that is very simple. When was the last time you saw a child born who started out eating meat? Never. Well, the same holds true when it comes to talking about transformation. It was important that we started out providing you with milk and soft food. And while what you have read throughout this guide thus far may have seemed somewhat difficult to digest, it was very basic. So make no mistake about it. This chapter on faith was strategi¬cally placed. Here is where we offer you some meat.
We have talked about transformation on so many levels throughout this guide, yet it is only now that we are begin¬ning to see what is at the core of all of this. What MUST we really do if we want transformation to take place? What is at the heart of all this? Surrendering to God and His per¬fect plan and will for our lives, is a major step, however, we cannot surrender to God if we don’t believe He even exists.

Kingdom Principles For Everyday Living Virtual Book Tour with

CoverAbout The Book

The book is a 40 day devotional. It’s a great book for men and women. This book is designed to help those who are struggling with a consistent prayer life. It’s easy to read and very fruitful.

I adored this devotional. Simple, yet elegant words, but not preachy, encompassed in power packed devotions ,which will bring much peace and strength to your life. I just didn’t read it for a review , I carried it around as a personal devotion.

Guest Post of Stewart Perrilliat

Over the years, I have come to understand the significance of the number 40. Scientifically speaking, 40 weeks is the length of time it takes for a mother to carry an unborn child from conception to delivery. Biblically speaking, 40 is the number associated with a period of testing before a breakthrough.

The number 40 is an indication that God is ready to birth something new out of pain or challenge. According to the Bible, Noah was in the rain for 40 days and nights before God brought a refreshing promise for His people.

When the Children of Israel were ready to cross over into their promise, the spies who preceded them took 40 days to scout out the land. However, because of disobedience, their 40 days turned into 40 years before they entered into the land of promise.
Goliath, who was killed by David, challenged the Children of Israel for 40 days prior to their victory over the Philistine army.

Before He began His ministry, Jesus, while being tempted by satan, fasted for 40 days and 40 nights in the wilderness.

I have experienced my own personal 40 days of trials and tribulations. However, because I did not lose my confidence in God, I was able to realize the significance of the number 40 and receive God’s blessings for me after my test. These truths concerning the number 40 inspired me to write this devotional.

In modern times, 30 days is used to complete various programs or to create a new habit. At the beginning of the year, Magazine cover stories often read, Thirty Days to a New You. For the purpose of this devotional the true number for the manifestation of a renewed life is the number 40.

Therefore, this devotional will afford you an opportunity to develop a more intimate relationship with the Lord and transform your life. As you read this devotional, it will give you hope and renew your strength. On those days when doubt and disbelief abound, I encourage you to remain consistent with your 40 day cycle of reading Kingdom Principles for Everyday Living: 40 Practical Principals for a Fruitful Life.
I challenge you to apply yourself and expect a breakthrough by the time you have complete this devotional. I encourage you to not only read through the devotions in this book, but to read the related scriptures and commit them to memory. This process will increase your knowledge of God, and strengthen your faith towards Him.

God’s will for us is to increase in every area of our lives by being doers of His Word. I pray that this devotional draw you closer to God and give you the incredible power to break into your promise.

Jamerson (second edition)…available on Amazon.com

http://animoto.com/play/sZmQGS3Hs3xjXEV1oz89XA

An Interview with Author Camille D. Jamerson

cdj_2[1]

Describe yourself for our visitors.
I have been described by my circle of friends as an elegant, classy, polished “Princess” type who is extremely gracious and compassionate….and then there is the “BUT”. When you get to know me you learn very quickly that I could very easily be packing a 9 MM or two under my flowing Vera Wang gown. I work hard to consistently be a lady in my demeanor….but I take no prisoners or apologies when it comes to changing paradigms and diminishing excuses for helping others overcome the past to live a more abundant life.

How do you find time to connect with God?
I have to be very creative. My day is always jam packed with the responsibilities of home, work, my business and my writing…not to mention church activities. But I have found that my car has become the best sanctuary EVER. It’s the one place where it’s quiet, no one is talking to me and I can really pray, worship and hear the Word uninterrupted.
Describe the importance of prayer and intercession in one’s life? Communication with God is imperative to stay in the will of God. You have to continue to nurture your relationship with Him over and above all others. He is the center. Everything else gets off kilter when you have been out of touch and can’t hear His voice. I have someone that I can consistently call on to intercede for me. Sometimes in a position of leadership you spend so much time interceding for the needs of others that you neglect yourself and then your weakness will pop up or you will just get tired. It’s important to have someone that will go to God on your behalf.

Who are your favorite authors and why?? Favorite books?
My favorite authors are Andy Andrews, Anne Lammott, John C. Maxwell, C.S. Lewis and Grace Greene. Why? In one or more of their books I have been inspired to DO something different. Their writing CHANGED something for me, even in fiction… a paradigm or perspective was given through the characters that caused me to think differently. That’s what writing should do, it should leave a mark.

What valuable lessons do you want readers to learn from your book?
First and foremost that NOTHING you have been through has been time wasted. EVERYTHING in your life has been designed to bring you to an expected end of victory. This book looks at the fight that you are in, applies God’s wisdom and principles, gives you PRACTICAL, APPLICABLE information that you can use to start making changes. This is a book that requires WORK. If you are SERIOUS about operating like royalty from here on out, and leaving the life of the defeated behind you then start here. A Princess Cut Diamond will make you laugh, cry, think but most importantly if you do the work, it will cause you to CHANGE.

What’s next for you?
I am currently working on two series. One is called “A More Excellent Way” which features books that are designed to help you discover a better way of doing everything. The first one is about re-designing your wardrobe, and the one after that is about traveling on a budget. The 2nd series is about “The Adventures of Greater First New Rock”. It’s a fun series about the life & times of a modern day predominately African American church. I am also developing an online webseries regarding healthy eating in urban communities and preparing for several classes I am teaching, as well as workshops and keynote addresses for women’s and youth groups.

Where can visitors find you online?
I am on twitter @CDJamerson. My author page is www.cdjamerson.wordpress.com. My company is www.TheKaiserinGroup.org. Any of those avenues will lead you to me!

Can you give us one do and one don’t for those aspiring to be a writer? One don’t would be…don’t edit your book yourself. Hire a professional editor to proof your work. My very first book had many errors that I missed because I read what should have been there, versus what was actually printed. One do would be, even when you aren’t working on a book, write every day. My blog musings landed me a regular full page spread with Living Well magazine by Real Times media AND an offer to do a regular workshop. Keep your gift sharpened.

When you’re not writing, what do you like to do in your spare time?
Travel, Shop and Bowl…I don’t get to do any of them as often as I would like, but I hope to change that this year.

Name your top five favorite books of all time.
The Travelers Gift, Blue like Jazz, 360 Leader, The Chronicles of Narnia & Beach Rental.

Oprah always asks, What do you know for sure?
I know that I am saved. I know that I have loved and been loved in returned. I know that I would give my life for my children. Lastly, I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that because I know God I am destined to do great exploits.

Get You Good Virtual Book Tour

Get_You_Good

Interview with Author Rhonda Bowen

Tell us about your current book?

Get You Good is the story of Sydney Isaacs and her rather dysfunctional family. When we meet her she seems like a successful enough woman with a growing business. But the more time we spend with her the more we realize that there is a lot of family dysfunction and resentment in her life that nobody is dealing with. And then Sheree enters the picture. She is Sydney’s new sister-in-law who in a short period of time manages not only to upset the relationships in the family, but also to totally destroy Sydney’s business and her family legacy. When Sydney and her sister Lissandra decide to make things right, they cross over from what is wrong to what is very wrong, and that is where the excitement begins.

What came first with this story, the characters or the plot? Why?

I think the characters came first for this one. From the outset I knew I wanted to write a story about family, particularly about siblings. I was going through some things with my own sibling at the time and writing about that kind of relationship was a bit therapeutic for me. At the time I was also reading the book of Genesis in the Bible and the relationships between Jacob’s children was fascinating for me. I ended up building the story around the idea of a family like theirs.

What has surprised you most about becoming a published author?

How much pressure I feel to write a book that is better than my last one. Before I got published my main goal was to get published. It was clear and simple. But now I worry about whether my next novel will be as good as my last one, whether my readers will like it, whether it will be good for my publisher and whether it will sell more than the last one. I didn’t consider those issues before I got published.

What aspect of writing do you love the best, and which do you hate the most?

I love the writing itself, especially when you get to that point in the story where you know where it is going and the lines are coming faster than you can type them. Those are the moments when I feel most like a writer. I think I like least the business side of things, particularly planning and doing promotion. I love talking to readers about my books, but everything in between sometimes stresses me out.

Can you give us one do and one don’t for those aspiring to be a writer? Do read craft books about writing. No matter how good you think you are, no matter whether you have a contract in the works or not, no matter how many conferences you have been to, it is important to always look for opportunities to improve your writing skills. Craft books like The First Five Pages by Noah Lukeman and Self Editing for Fiction Writers by Browne and King are priceless.

Don’t ever send your manuscript to a publisher or agent without editing it at least three times or having someone (credible!) edit it for you. You love your story and you think it’s great which means that you will be blind to its flaws. The more you look at it however, the more you will see inconsistencies in your characters, holes in your plot as well as simple grammatical mistakes. It is even better if an outside person takes a look at it, because they will come at it with fresh eyes. The best way to get yourself into the slush pile of an agent or publisher is to have a novel with a weak opening and chocked full of typos and poor sentence construction. Chances are the person you sent it to won’t even read past the first page.

When you’re not writing, what do you like to do in your spare time?

I love being outdoors and being active, so in the summer I go hiking, go camping and play netball. In the winter I tend to experiment with indoor activities like yoga, zumba and socacize. Anything to keep moving!
What’s next for you?
I am currently working on my next novel, which is based on several of the characters from GET YOU GOOD. This the story is more about one character’s personal choices and how that affects her future, or what she thinks her future is supposed to be. I am already excited about it!

About the Book
Sydney Isaacs has two priorities: her family, and Decadent, the gourmet pastry business they founded almost three generations ago. But both are in jeopardy when her brother, Dean, announces his sudden marriage to the conniving Sheree Vern. Furthermore Dean’s inheritance of the ownership of Decadent from their father, despite Dean’s lack of interest, leaves Sydney with few options. Now Dean and Sheree are selling the store to finance his music dreams—or so Dean believes… Thanks to Sheree, Dean’s plans, the business, and his marriage, soon implode in ways he never expected—leaving Sydney determined to salvage whatever she can and fix the mess left behind. Her only solace is her romance with Hayden Windsor. But Hayden is Sheree’s half brother and it doesn’t take long for Sydney to wonder: what if Hayden knew about Sheree’s scheming all along? Soon Sydney creates a deception of her own to find out the truth. Her strategy is working, until the consequences threaten to destroy everything she values most—including her faith. Overcome with guilt, can she make things right with her brother, with Hayden, and with God?
