Happy Holidays

Each loving act says loud and clear, “I love you. God loves you. I care. God cares.”
Beloved let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God for God is love. 1 John 4:7-8
During this Holiday Season of joy , celebration and gathering with family and friends(and really all the year) remember those grieving from lost(divorce, death, rejection, failure) and suffering from illness and depression. Pray for the poor and lonely . This time of year is often depressing to some. Pray for them and then—- DO. Give a smile, a hug, an encouraging word, a touch, a donation, feed them, a visit, provide support and resources. We are God’s ambassadors created to do good works.( Ephesians 2:10) #doalovingact #TellsomeoneGodlovesthem

Thankful for God and You

giving-thanks-10393942_10202166989856555_3689624930398350217_n

Dear Family and Friends,
Happy Thanksgiving! I pray that your holiday is blessed and enjoyable. While you are enjoying the turkey day and food do not let it overshadow the purpose of Thanksgiving-to express thankfulness and gratitude to God!

Psalm 107:1 O give  thanks unto the Lord, for he is good for his mercy endureth for ever.

God is a God of love and love is not a self seeking . Therefore  giving thanks is not just for the benefit of God. “God wants you to give thanks because a thankful heart opens the door to more blessing in your life”!( Keith Butler)

Love on your families and persons who are hurting due to divorce, loss of a loved one, tragedy……. and Brag on God
Season of Thankfulness : Brag on God  #bragonGod #thankthegivingGod
Brag on God .Think and Thank . Think of God goodness, greatness, grace,  and how he done so many great things for you. Tell it. Thank God for all the great things He has done in your life.

thanks-for-everythingimages

I give you thanks, O LORD, with my whole heart; before the gods I sing your praise; 2 I bow down toward your holy temple and give thanks to your name for your steadfast love and your faithfulness, for you have exalted above all things your name and your word. Psalm 138:1-2

Remember others. If you cannot feed a hundred people, then feed just one.
As we have therefore opportunity let us do good unto all men. Galatians 6:10 #feedone #helpsomebody #dogood

During this Holiday Season of joy , celebration and gathering with family and friends(and really all the year) remember those grieving from lost(divorce, death, rejection, failure) and suffering from illness and depression. I am so thankful. I  want to tell you  how extremely thankful  to God for being able to connect and share with you.

With a heart filled with gratitude ,

Fervently pray and give thanks,

Book Review

A touching reflection of a mother and daughter’s relationship. It’s funny, heartfelt , dramatic, but shows what unconditional love is about in real terms.  I thank God that my mother is still here and for the reminder to treasure  “Mothes”, “Mommie and “Mama’.

“The Lovechild” by Ashea S. Goldson

DSC00713[1]Lovechild[1]
What can separate us from the love of God? The Word of God tells us nothing. However, sometimes a person may have a hard time believing this and feel unlovable, unloved, rejected and bitter. It doesn’t matter that on the outside people see you as successful, physically beautiful and from a great family that seemed like a pillar of the community. Yet , it was a family with secrets.

In The Lovechild, Makaeli Hunt, a successful fashion designer, has been driven far away from home by her family’s dysfunction. While living in Italy, trying to heal the wounds of yesterday, ambition becomes her comforter. When a family emergency forces her to return to her home, in seven life altering days, amidst memories of a tumultuous past, will one revealed secret drive her away from her family and God forever? Or will she discover what it means to be God’s lovechild?

The Lovechild gracefully and beautifully shows us, without being preachy, how the love of God can work through and in our lives to overcome the pain and ugliness of the past. It reminds us that we must forgive or else unforgiveness can kill your soul. Nothing can separate us from the love of God if we seek Him. My favorite character was Mrs. Pearl – someone God sent into Makaeli’s life as a child to encourage, love and that told her about Jesus, even though she turned her back on Him for a long time. Mrs. Pearl indeed was a pearl full of wisdom and love. She’s was a source of escape for Makaeli as a youth, who loved her when she felt abandoned, and made God’s love and wisdom real.

Dealing with issues of racism, depression, self-esteem, drug addiction, mental illness, verbal and physical abuse,The Lovechild is a story of redemption and re-dedication, confirming our victory in Jesus Christ.
