An Interview with Apostle Oliver Reid

Describe yourself for our visitors.
I am a passionate guy who loves people. I’m both humbled and confident because of Christ.

How do you find time to connect with God?
I find time to connect with God by acknowledging that He is my life source. I increase my reliance by seeing how small I am and how big He is.

What inspired you to write this book?
Being lost for so many years and needing a sense of direction has inspired to write Spiritual GPS.

Who are your favorite authors and why?? Favorite books?
My favorite authors are: TD Jakes, Mike Murdock, Tommy Tenney, and Kenneth Hagin. My Favorite books are: He Motions, God Chasers, The Assignment, and The Anointing.

Tell us about your journey to publication.
My journey has been God ordained. From the beginning until the end of this project the Holy Spirit has connected me with the right people. I thank God for my publishing company (Publishing For Pastors). This publication has been one of the smoothest in my writing career.

Tell us about your current book. Spiritual GPS is tailored to people of diverse backgrounds and experiences. This book caters to individuals who dare to dream and live on the cutting edge of their next level. Spiritual GPS is focused on allowing you to concentrate on godly solutions instead of the equations.

How did you come up with ideas for this book?
The idea of this book came to me as I was traveling the highways on the way to and from my destination. Throughout my commute I begin to realize that the traffic signs weren’t posted for decoration but held a purpose to direct the driver or traveler. Then it dawned on me that life and our spiritual walks are that same way. God has signs for us to follow. God has placed a spiritual GPS in the inside of every believer.
What valuable lessons do you want readers to learn from your book? This book has been inspired by God and designed to serve as a constant reminder that God has promised you solutions.

What’s next for you?
I am currently working on a ministry workbook curriculum entitled Your Is Not Impossible “Developing your Assignment for ministry” and the remaining sequels to Spiritual GPS. Currently I am spearheading the I AM A SOLUTION CAMPAIGN.

Remembering During Black History Month

Praise for God for gifts and talents and overcoming anointed power. During Black History Month, we honor the contributions, achievements, and strength of the African-American community that has helped shape our nation’s history and identity.

Remember:

1. When you receive a God given dream ,not a wish or fantasy, God will give you the strength and courage to walk it out.

For a dream comes through activity. And a fool’s voice is known by his many words. Ecclesiastics 5:3 NKJV

2. We must not allow anyone but God to assign our roles to us.

I know O ‘Lord that a man’s life is not his own; it is not for man to direct our steps. Jeremiah 10:23 (NIV)

3. Success is measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has overcome.

He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be His God and he shall be my son. Revelations 21:7

And lastly, whatever you want God’s got it. So Celebrate. Use your gifts and talents to the glory of God to make a differnce in the lives of others and in the Kingdom.

The Blood Done Signed My Name Virtual Book Tour

Book_cover[1]

About The Book

Are the sins of the father and mother visited upon their sons and daughters?

Undoubtedly damaged, Honey Lamb, like many, is a descendant of an unfortunate legacy of molestation, addiction, murder and bad decisions. For as long as she could remember, she believed the unhappiness she experienced was somehow bequeathed to her. The blood that surged through her veins seemed to be tainted and she often wondered about the DNA she possessed. Experiencing more than her share of misery at the hands of her mother, an alcoholic; the source of all her woes, Honey believed she’d overcome her seemingly checkered path all by herself when she met and married, Mason; a man she loves beyond her own understanding. Unfortunately, unsettling memories emerge to crack the veneer of her seemingly happy existence. Feeling unable to escape what she believed to be her destiny, Honey makes a decision that may have ruined her life. Not realizing God places people in our lives for His purpose, she reluctantly embarks upon a journey that will open her heart to a divine inheritance. Will she accept what God has already given to her or will she shun the invitation of salvation and allow her familial carnal legacy to continue to the next generation? Will she come to understand that Jesus’ blood redeemed us from a self-defeating existence because He became the sinful inheritance for us while at the same time eradicating it forever, giving us a spiritual blood transfusion that would change us all?

PROLOGUE

Northern Italy, 1918

He hadn’t washed in weeks. The countryside was crawling with “Kraut” and all he could do was think about the full lips that said his name with uninhibited desire. She made him feel invincible and he needed to believe he was. He would have done anything to have and to keep her.

Those eyes…

She moved over him like a cunning feline. Under her spell, he promised he would keep her brother Tanner quiet about everything. He had no idea how he was going to silence the man who had become his friend, but he wasn’t going to let anyone ruin their plans. As he walked back to camp after visiting a makeshift latrine, his thoughts took him back to their night together. Intoxicated by cheap wine, he’d agreed to the pact. She was beautiful, strong, and most of all, determined. He wanted to believe that they would have a good life once this useless war was over.

After settling into the muddy trench, he saw something almost imperceptibly move. Italy could have been a beautiful place if it wasn’t for this God forsaken war, he thought, rubbing his eyes. He was unbelievably fatigued; so much so that foliage seemed to be moving by itself. He closedhis eyes and opened them again to focus. Was there someone or something out there? He couldn’t wait until he was back in the U. S. of A. More importantly, he couldn’t wait to be with her. He could still smell her. She was a vision… a sweet temptress

Book Reviewbanner-the-blood-done-signed-my-name

Are we more than conquerors over betrayal, rejection, hatred and “generational curses” through Jesus Christ whose blood redeemed us from the curse of the law and sins of the past? The Blood Done Signed My Name by M. Ann Ricks is an engaging and touching Christian fiction novel. It shows the  how the main character, Honey Lamb, struggles with her past and allows her actions to hurt  her present life and those who love her. We see how Honey learns to stop running from the Lord and the ugliness of her past to open her heart to the Lord to allow Him to forgive her, and to let the Lord ,with her willingness and obedience, break the curse of the sins of the past in her life. This is a moving and entertaining piece  based on the truth of God’s Word without being preachy, that shows the redeeming power and love of GOD  that allow us to be more than conquerors over adverse circumstances

Conversations of a Watchman: Prayers to Frame your Prophetic Destiny

About the Book

How does a person move from a place deficient of light?  How can an individual shift from a place of complete and utter chaos, obscurity, apathy, and adversity?  The pathway to transformation is through in-depth conversations with the One True God of Creation–El·ō·hēm’.  For you to move to a place of prophetic providence, your conversation must be divinely inspired.  Hebrews 11:3 states: “The worlds were framed by the Word of God.”  Framing begins with an idea, expands as a result of the imagination, and gives life through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit through divine utterance for a specific purpose.  Declaring the Word of God releases the creative power of God for authentic transformation.
K. E. Allen designed this book to draw you into a deeper conversation with the Father to renew your prayer life, mend your brokenness, enlighten your pathway, and arrange your chaos according to the divine order of God. This resource will help you exercise your kingly and priestly authority and impose kingdom mandates to release God’s original intent in your life, family, community, city, region, and nation.  It will encourage you to frame your prophetic destiny.

About the Author

Through the extraordinary gift of intercession and pure worship, she has become a spiritual weapon in the hand of the Lord whose knowledge is relevant for the church today. She is a dynamic leader, extravagant worshiper and prophetic intercessor whose worship has become a definitive lifestyle that penetrates and permeates every facet of her life and the lives of those she touches.  Karla is a leader to leaders and lives a life of committed consistent intercession, giving selflessly of herself in her prayer closet.  For over 20 years, as a student and teacher of the Word and woman of faith, she implements the truth of the Bible through the dynamics of intercession and worship that releases a tangible anointing.  Knowing firsthand the transformative power of God in her own life, she is determined to see others healed, delivered and set free. Karla will stop at nothing to see God move in the lives of His people!

AUTHOR INTERVIEW QUESTIONS

 Tell us about yourself?

I was born and raised in San Francisco, CA.  I have a strong legacy of women and men of God that have impacted my life.  But, the person who has had the greatest influence on my life is my grandmother, Mary Williams.  She was a strong woman of faith and prayer.  In a denomination where female preachers were not accepted, one could always find her preaching, teaching, and hosting meetings/shut-ins where people would be filled with the Holy Spirit and demons were cast out. In fact, I have her ordination papers that she kept hidden under her bed.  Why do I tell you about my grandmother when you ask about me?  Because if it wasn’t for her courage and strength I would not be who I am.  I watched her life until the day of her passing and as an adult, it is my desire to emulate her life.  As she was a woman of wisdom and grace, so am I.  Who am I?  Inside of me is a strong inheritance of prayer, faith, and a full life in Christ Jesus-all passed down to me by my grandmother, my grandfather, and my parents.

How do you find time to connect with God?

When I was a student at Oral Robert’s University, Larry Lee, a renown minister at the time, challenged the students to meet him at 6:00 a.m. for early morning prayer.  That was a huge sacrifice as sleep was a treasured activity for us.  That season of early morning prayer changed my life permenantly.  At that time in my life, my prayer life was sporadic and governed by whatever was happening in my life.

However, I found as I brought discipline and consistency to my prayer life those same characteristics began to spill over into every area of my life.  That season taught me that making time to connect with God had to be a priority for me to maintain a successful life.  I still connect with God first thing in the morning!  I have proven the principal in Proverbs 8:17, I love those who love me, and those who seek me early and diligently shall find me.  He will associate Himself with those that make time to connect with Him

Describe the importance of prayer and intercession in one’s life

In the last part of James 5:16, it’s says that the earnest heartfelt, continued prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available dynamic in its working. Simply stated, without prayer the believer is powerless!

How did you learn to walk in the role as a Watchman?

When I was in my early twenties I had a dream I was standing in my church blowing a trumpet.  Then, the Holy Spirit directed me to to read Ezekiel 1-3.  In these chapters,  God is explaining to Ezekiel His roll as a watchman to Israel!  When I finished reading, the Lord spoke to me and told me I was a watchman for His house.  From that time to now, God has  trained me through various experiences and people.

What was the most difficult aspect of writing this book?

By far, the most difficult aspect of writing this book was the editing process.

Did you have to do any special research for this book?

When one writes about principles pertaining to the Bible, there is always extensive research and study involved so as to ensure accuracy.

Why do you write? Is it something you have always done or always wanted to do? Or is it something you started fairly recently?

I write because it is a passion I enjoy.  As far as I can remember, I have always loved to write.  As a young child I wrote fiction stories all the time.  In my teenage years, I wrote poetry and by the time was in college I started writing songs.   So, writing, in some form, has always been a part of my life.

How did you feel when you received the first copy of your book?

It was a surreal moment.  Being able to hold what God had given me in my hands literally overwhelmed me.  My heart was filled with so much gratitude towards God and all the people that had helped my God-given dream become a reality.

Author Interview

Tell us a little about yourself.

I am a Husband of ten years, Father, Mentor and Owner of Never Again Ministries which promote Marriage Enhancement and Holistic Relationships. My Wife and I host the Doctor of Love Show on Three different stations.

Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

In my latest book WISDOM:  Preventing Problems before They Happen the overall message is to help people cut back on making bad decisions. Don’t get me wrong, we all make mistakes but if there is someone who can mentor us from making bad decisions, apply the wisdom that others give to you.

What is the most challenging part of being an indie author?

What is the most rewarding part of being an indie author? The most challenging part of being an indie author is getting others to see the vision that is birthed within you. When you don’t have others backing you or you don’t have the big name to match, it takes more time for others to buy into what you are writing.
What made you decide to become an author?

I like to talk a lot! I figured if I can put all my thoughts and ideas on paper it will become more valuable to those who read my books.
When did you begin writing with the intention of becoming published?

I started writing my first book If You Apply These Principles in 2008. Then I went on to get published by the company Lulu.

Please tell us the titles of your current book (s): And give a brief synopsis

-If You Apply These Principles: God Is More Practical Than We Think (2008) I used a lot of Bible Scripture from the book of Proverbs on the practicality of God and how God require work to be done on our behalf to be successful.

-It’s The Woman You Gave Me (2009) how we can get past blaming others for past hurts and disappointments from parents, friends, spouses, and situations. Notice how the blame game started with Adam and Eve in the garden. Since the beginning of time it’s been an issue even until today.

-3 Are Even Better (2010) eight week workbook for married couples and benefits of God being the head of your marriage. The title came from the book of Ecclesiates 4:12 we discuss topics from money, sex, how to affair proof your marriage to blended families

-WISDOM: Preventing Problems before they happen (2012) Refer back to question number one for synopsis

What one positive piece of advice would you give to other authors?

Don’t quit when things get tough and get connected to others who have the same goals as you. Networking with other authors is a powerful tool. Also support other authors and understand it’s not always about you and your work.

Tell us about your journey to publication.

For me it was tough because I didn’t know any other published authors when I wrote my first book. I just did the best I could and let the cards fall. But as time went on publishing became easier.

 What next for you?

We are hosting our first “3 are even better” Marriage Retreat in Payson, Arizona this fall and the release of my new book WISDOM: Preventing problems before they happen

 For Empowered to Propser

Why does the fire die down in our marriages?

I think we get used to our Spouse after so many years of Marriage. That’s why date nights (or mornings) is healthy for a Marriage. Always take time to reinvent yourself to keep the Marriage fresh.

About the Book

Aaron Jamieson is living a carefree life. He’s good-looking, respectable when he’s in the mood, but his weakness is women. When a woman tries to ambush him with a pregnancy, he takes off in the other direction. Responsibility as an option is something he learned from his absentee father.

Talise Rogers has a bright future ahead of her. She’s pretty and has no problem catching a man’s eye, which is exactly what she does with Ace. Their chemistry is undeniable and their passion explosive. Trapping Ace is the furthest thing from Talise’s mind, when she learns she is pregnant.  She is determined to be a good parent.

When Ace rejects her she lets him know, ” I want nothing from you Ace, not even your name,” and she means it.  But Ace’s big brother and cousins don’t plan to let the child who represents the twelfth generation descendant of a royal African tribe leave the fold. Whether Ace decides to accept his responsibility or not, his family embraces Talise and baby.  As for Ace, they turn him over to the LORD.  How long will he be able to endure the guilt trip he’s experiencing because of his choices?  What will it take for him to accept responsibility and turn from following in his father’s footsteps?

About the Series

The Jamieson Family Legacy series follows the lives of the two Jamieson brothers in Boston, Kidd and Ace and their cousin Cameron from St. Louis.  Kidd, the older brother, is struggling with anger and resentment issues toward his absentee father who never married his mother, but had the audacity to demand his illegitimate sons carry his last name Jamieson. Ace, on the other hand, is on a collision course with disaster as he shows how much a “chip off the old block” he is when it comes to women. Their highly educated MIT graduate cousin, Cameron Jamieson, is all about saving his family from self-destruction. Through genealogy research, Cameron’s mission is to show his cousins their worth as eleventh generation descendants of a royal African tribe and give them a choice: to be angry black men or accept the challenge to become strong successful black men.

The Jamieson men in this three book series are challenged with accepting that the past and the present are both in God’s hand.  Without Him they can’t move forward toward their future blessings. The bonus storyline is one that progresses the story of the much-loved Grandma B.B. character from the author’s previous Guilt books and her new sidekick, Mrs. Valentine.

About the Book

A historical romance novel set in the 1920s in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Son of a Preacherman depicts the highly segregated life of African Americans in the Greenwood District, in Northern Tulsa and the tensions leading up to the Tulsa Race Riots.

Billy Ray Matthias is the handsome younger son of the church’s new pastor.  Benny is the daughter of the oil rich Freeman family.  Billy Ray is convinced that Benny is the woman God would have him settle down with. Benny, on the other hand, recently had her heart broken. She is not the least bit interested in getting involved anytime soon. As Billy’s pursuit of Benny intensifies, so does the political and social climate in the prosperous African American neighborhood known as the Greenwood District.

Racial tensions in Tulsa escalate when Dick Rowland, a black man, is accused by a local newspaper of raping Sarah Page, a white woman, on an elevator.  Ethan Freeman (Benny’s brother) and Maynard Vaughn (a radical white attorney and Ethan’s mentor) despite continuous threats put their weight and energy behind helping Dick. While the White Glove Society, a racist group seeks to destroy not only Dick but all the African Americans in this successful black owned community.

As tensions come to a head and violence breaks out, Billy and Benny are caught up in the heat of chaos.  He vows to keep her safe but will Benny let him?

Will faith in God be enough to sustain the people of the community as their lives are changed forever by deadly acts of hatred?

Five Things a Father Should Teach His Children by speaker and author Bobby Ray Ivory, Jr

And fathers, do not provoke your children to anger; but bring them up in the discipline and the admonition of the Lord. Ephesians 6:4

The first thing a father should teach his children is that they are created in the image of God and that God doesn’t make mistakes regardless to whatever the popular opinion of the day is. He should inform his children that all the evidence they will ever need concerning whether or not they are here for a purpose has been answered by the fact that they were born. He should stress to them that since they are here they are accountable to produce much good in the earth.

The second thing a father should tell/teach his children is that they are not descendants from apes. As well, he should tell his children that the theory of evolution as presented by Darwin is a fairytale. It is one man’s attempt to free himself of moral obligation by introducing the idea there is no God to which one must be held accountable and hence, you are free to do as you please because essentially man is an animal and nothing more.

The third thing a father should tell/teach his children is to engage their minds and never be afraid to push themselves to see how much skill they can acquire. He should encourage his children to recognize that education is not a burden, but a wonderful privilege. It pleases God when they use their minds to figure out the puzzles God has hidden throughout the universe. A father should tell his children that the mysteries are there so that they never lose their sense of wonder.

The fourth thing a father should teach his children is to honor time. Honor time by becoming a student of history so that they may avoid the mistakes made by some and surpasses the accomplishments made by others through understanding what human potential is by records left by other men and women. He should emphasize that time is a gift never to be squandered because once it’s gone it can never be recovered. There is only new time available.

The fifth thing a father should teach his children is how to love through the example of his presence, sacrifice and integrity. No lesson is more indelible than the ones received by a living example, a living object lesson. This is what a father should teach his children.

More Than Just a Provider by author Terrence Wilson

This month we celebrate Father’s Day. We honor fathers, who may not be perfect, but who love their children, train their children, protect their children and have good relationships with their children. Terrence Wilson, author of  In Search of Father  ,discusses  in More Than Just a Provider how men must nurture their relationships in their family and with their children.

For years, the role of a father has been deteriorating to become nothing more than just someone who has the ability to provide for his family. After all, being the bread-winner for the family has been the calling card for males for centuries. It was not until the mid-1900s that women began to provide for families in the same way that men provided.

At that time, the relevancy of the father really began to come into question. Not because women should not be bringing in income, but because dad’s main role was to provide (or so we thought). Once women began making money, many began to ask the question, “What is your benefit to this household (father)?”

For years men were the main source of providers in the home. Accordingly, many men based their identity and based all their importance on this one role. However, because of this men also neglected many of the other responsibilities of what a father should be to his family. His relevance was in his ability to provide and he did not feel the need to interact and build relationships.

As men who are fathers, we need to begin to find our relevancy outside of being a provider. After all, you can provide for someone in New York while living in Dallas. Unfortunately, many men are accepting the fact that they can provide from anywhere and don’t have to be there (necessarily).

All too often this happens even when the father is in the household. I don’t know how many people I come into contact with who are hurting, not because their father was physically absent, but emotionally detached. He lived in the house and paid the bills but still he was a stranger to his family.

It is not God’s desire for men to be strangers in their own household. Instead, God lays out a great example of what a father is supposed to be. In 1 John 4: 19, we begin to understand that our love for God, our Heavenly Father, is in direct reciprocation to His love for us (we love Him because He first loved us). Again, in John 3: 16 we see that God made the first move in establishing a relationship with us as His children.

God desires for men to establish relationships with each member of the family and it is his responsibility to initiate them. When we as men take the time to build and establish relationships with our families, it won’t matter that there is a second income coming into the household because the father’s relevance is based on more than just being a provider.

The greatest example of a true father is our Heavenly Father. One of the names of God is Jehovah-Jireh, which means the Lord God our Provider. However, this name only represents one aspect of who He is. He is also our comforter, confidant, strong tower, best friend and counselor. All these aspects of God represent the true role of a father.

As you celebrate this Father’s Day, reflect on the relationship you have with each family member and understand that their success will be greatly benefited from your encouragement. Your presence in their lives will be like watering the fresh soil of a newly planted seed. As a father, you were truly made to be a refreshing in the lives of your family.

God is a father and you were made in His image. So represent the character of   God to your family, friends and community and show them the true essence of Love.

Jesse A. Cole, Jr.- A Man of Valor Teaches Young Males to Walk Like a King

Jesse Cole Author of  Walking Like A King  Interviews with  Linda Fegins

This month we celebrate Father’s Day. We honour fathers, who may not be perfect, but who love their children, train their children, protect their children and have good relationships with their children. We thank God for earthly fathers who are loving, kind, protective, wise,  and who walk  humbly, yet with power and grace. We also thank God for men who serve as mentors, leaders and father figures to young men who may not have a relationship with their father.

Jesse A. Cole, Jr. while not a father yet, has stepped up to the challenge of  training and working with young males to provide guidance and direction.  Cole’s book Walk Like A King: The Young Man’s Guide To Conquering The World was written specifically with the young man in mind  to answer questions about: Integrity, Self-Control, Goal Setting, Love, Personal Hygiene, Spirituality, Community Service and Education. The book addresses real life issues with practicality and offers clearly outlined solutions from a male perspective. The imbedded workbook gives the reader an immediate opportunity to implement what they’ve learned and they can track their development with ease.

1. Jesse what inspired  you to write this book?

I was inspired to write the book by the lack of male presence in the lives of the young men I work with. They are so hungry for direction and it seemed as if they were receiving little guidance, so I figured that I would step in and fill that void.

2. Tell me the significance in the title of the book.

There are multiple layers to why I chose this title.  At the time that I was writing this book, Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday was approaching, Black History month was a few months away and I was also thinking about the men who had deposited into my life. Also, our young men need to feel like they belong to something bigger than themselves, and a king represents not only royalty, but power. So in essence, I’m telling the young men that they have the ability to walk in power. I was meditating on all of these things and the title just presented itself. After that, I created the outline and finished writing the book within 30 days of having the title.

3. What in your experience has lead you to want to help young men walk like kings?

I have had the privilege of seeing my father and other great men walk out there manhood before me. I’ve seen them at their highest points as well as their lowest. And the way they handles the pressure of manhood was kingly. Because of their examples, I am able to do the same and deposit back into the next generation of young kings.

4. Identify your favorite writer/writers and why.

My all time favorite writer is King David and Solomon. There is so much wisdom in Psalms and Proverbs.  All of the writers that I read today (John Maxwell, T.D. Jakes, David Cottrell, Russell Simmons, Daymond John, Dave Ramsey) all have traces of King David and Solomon in their writing.

5. What advice would you give new writers?

The advice I would give new writers is to stay true to your core values, be creative with no apologies and never be afraid to learn something new, take risk.

6. What are two great marketing tips/strategies you have learned to apply?

I have learned to never be afraid to not do what everyone else is doing. Think outside the book, Yes, I said “book”. When it comes to marketing, there is no blueprint, just ideas that have worked for other people. Find the “purple cow” in this gumbo pot we call marketing/promotion. The purple cow is the idea that no one else ever thought of, but it works great for you.
